Fujicco Salted Shredded Kombu is made by shredding and drying the kombu seaweed, and then seasoning it with salt. The salt enhances the natural umami flavour of the kombu, and also helps to preserve it for longer periods of time. Commonly used as a seasoning in soups, stews, and rice dishes. It can also be used as a garnish for salads and other dishes, or as a snack on its own. This salted shredded kombu is typically rehydrated by soaking it in water for several minutes until it softens. Then it can be added to dishes according to the recipe.
